The lucerne is a leguminous plant characterised by its high content of good quality protein and crude fiber. It is a drought-resistant plant that delivers up to three harvests. It is sometimes referred to as alfalfa. Lucerne is often included as a raw material in factory produced equine feeds and is also available to purchase as a raw material in the form of LUCERNE Chopped, LUCERNE Pellets and LUCERNE Pure Pellets. LUCERNE Chopped and LUCERNE Pellets contain molasses while LUCERNE Pure Pellets is completely free of added molasses.
PERFORMANCE LOW STARCH
A complementary feed with an extra low (4%) starch and sugar content, with added Active yeast to balance the horse’s digestive system, where the energy comes primarily from an extra high proportion of fibre and fat. The feed has a high content and extra added minerals to facilitate an overall balanced feeding plan when only a small allowance is given.
Always give your horse access to forage before feeding it concentrate feed and try to spread its concentrate feeds evenly throughout the day.
- Extra low starch (4%) and sugar (4%)
- The low starch content is advantageous for horses with certain types of muscle problems, such as tying up
- Added Active live yeast to balance the horse’s digestive system – LEVUCELL®SC
- Full effect of LEVUCELL®SC already at 1 kg feed
- Complete feed with a high proportion of vitmains and minerals
- Without added molasses
- Without oat kernels
- GMO free raw materials, read more about GMO here
- Recyclable paper bag 20 kg
- Consider adding supplementary minerals to small-size concentrate feeds
- Climate labelled
- Pellets 8 mm
Levucell is an active live yeast which is active in the large intestine of the horse. There it works to increase the digestibility of the feed and thereby also increase the availability of nutrients. The active live yeast helps to break down fibers and contributes to a more stable flora of the large intestine, which can have a positive effect on problems like diarrhea. Levucell SC consists of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae CNCM I-1077, which has both a probiotic effect – that is, increasing the amount of important microorganisms in the colon and a prebiotic effect – that is, contributing to a good environment in the large intestine to benefit the survival of the good microorganisms.

A suitable feed should be based on the nutritional value of the forage feed, level of performance and growth and whether the horse is in foal or lactating.
A guideline for an adult horse is approx. 0,2-0,4 kg of coarse feed/100 kg horse and 1-1.5 kg dry hay/haylage/100 kg horse. A low strong feed allowance may need to be supplemented with extra mineral feed.
1 litre KRAFFT PERFORMANCE Low Starch = approx. 0.7 kg.

Like the alfalfa (lucerne), green meal has a high content of high-quality protein and crude fiber. Green meal and alfalfa combined result in a very palatable feed. In order to yield an optimum crop of the highest quality, the grass is usually harvested 3-4 times a year, depending on the weather.
Wheat bran consists mostly of hulls and fragments of wheat that remain once the starchy kernel has been removed and as a result, contains less starch and more fiber than whole wheat. Wheat bran has good dietary qualities and is rich in B vitamins. Wheat bran has a high phosphorous content which is hard to digest for the horse.
Pressed beet pulp is a product from the sugar industry that is high in fiber but low in sugar without any added molasses. It has a high content of easily degradable fibers, especially pectin, and is free of starch, contributing to a high-energy content while promoting a balanced microflora in the gut of the horse. It also contains relatively large amounts of lysine, an essential amino acid.
Oat bran is, in fact, the bran of de-husked oats. It is known for its good dietary properties and high content of plant fibers and so-called beta-glucans.
Potato protein is, as the name indicates, protein derived from potatoes. Potato protein is a high-quality protein with a high content of the essential (vital) amino acids - methionine and lysine. Also, compared to other protein-rich feeds, potato protein is a highly digestible feed which allows the horse to absorb and benefit from most of the potato protein it eats. Potato protein is an essential ingredient in our products.
Contains rapeseed oil made from rapeseed - a high-energy starch-free feed that adds energy in concentrated form.
Sodium chloride, i.e. common salt, is used for adding salt to the feed.
